Hilliard Connections to Business Places
A modern two-level flexible workspace at TruePointe with furnished private offices, coworking, dedicated desks, reservable meeting and huddle rooms, an event venue and a podcast studio. Amenities include fiber Wi-Fi, phone booths, printing, refreshments, community support and free member parking. Virtual mail plans provide a Hilliard street address and online mail management.
An independently owned pack-and-ship and business-services center offering private mailboxes, digital mailboxes, secure package receiving, mail notifications, scanning and forwarding. Customers can also access UPS, FedEx, DHL and USPS shipping, printing, copying, document services, notary assistance and fingerprinting. A practical option for home-based and mobile businesses that need a street-address mailbox rather than office space.
A smaller, locally managed office setting in Downtown Hilliard with individual private offices, a shared kitchen and a private phone booth. The location may appeal to solo professionals who want a quieter, client-facing base near Old Hilliard shops and restaurants. Current office availability, visitor meeting arrangements and parking terms should be confirmed.
A locally developed coworking and flexible office destination in Old Hilliard, offering day passes, coworking memberships, private offices, meeting rooms and event space. Its downtown setting places independent professionals near restaurants, local businesses and community events.
This Hilliard Square location provides private mailboxes with a street address, acceptance of packages from multiple carriers, mail notifications and holding or forwarding services. Additional offerings include packing, shipping, printing, shredding, notary and postal services. Convenient for contractors and small businesses that primarily need dependable mail and package handling, not a desk or client meeting room.
Hilliard’s full-service United States Post Office offers USPS mailing, shipping, PO Box services and package pickup, with additional retail and passport-related services subject to availability. A useful low-complexity choice for businesses needing a traditional PO Box or regular postal transactions. A PO Box is not equivalent to a staffed virtual office or a private meeting location.
Hilliard Connections to Trusted Professionals

For Google to verify your Business Profile, you need to validate that you own and actively operate the business at the location you provide. This typically involves a video verification showing your workspace, business equipment, branding, and access to non-public areas. If you serve customers at their locations rather than inviting them to yours, your profile should be configured as a Service Area Business. This allows you to define the communities you serve while keeping your street address hidden from public view. Your address is still required for verification, but it will not be displayed on your profile, helping protect your privacy while demonstrating legitimate business ownership and control.
Professional Meeting Location

Service area businesses and some storefront businesses still need a professional place to meet with clients, vendors and employees. This may not be practical at your home, a coffee shop and sometimes even at your office.
Permanent Mailing Address

Businesses often need several different mailing addresses. First is the legal address for the Statutory Agent listed for your LLC. This is usually an attorney if you set this up professionally but if you skip legal help and do this directly with the Ohio Secretary of State then you may need to list yourself as the Statutory agent. It may not be ideal to use your home address and you cant use a PO Box or CMRA (mail center).
For business mail such as checks, bills and contracts it may be helpful to have a PO Box if this is convenient to your home. It is a huge hassle for a business to change the payment address for their customer payments, credit card statements, bank statements and other business mail so with a PO Box you can set this once and have mail go there for decades and also know that it is secure while you are out of town.

What is a Service Area Business?
A Service Area business is a business that does not have customers visit their brick and mortar location. It does not apprea in map results and hides your address. Some examples are home services and contractors that go to the customer's location, and businesses operating out of their home or a coworking space.
What is a Storefront Business?
A Storefront business is a business where customers come to your location to purchase goods and/or services. This is a mapped Google Business Profile so that customers can get directions to visit the business. Storefront businesses are popular with companies that want to show up in "near me" searches, such as "coffee shops near me" or "hair salon near me".
Benefits and Limitations
Both types of businesses can configure up to 20 individual towns or neighborhoods for their Google Business Profile. In practice, your website will need to show examples of your work and have landing pages for each of those communities before Google will show your business profile to customers in that area.
When a Home-Based Business Should Hide Its Address
A home-based business should configure their Google Business Profile as a Service Area business and hide their address unless you have signage and customers visit your home. Google will still require video verification of your home office to show that you own and control the business.
When A Storefront Business Is Appropriate
Google requires storefront business to meet the following criteria:
- have permanent signage at your location
- have staff onsite during your business hours
- submit a video and often additional verification documents to show that your business operates here and you have access to non-public areas

Why Hilliard Is a Great Place to Build a Business
Trades, Construction & Home Services Accordion
Access to the Columbus Market
Hilliard sits northwest of Columbus with access to I-270 and nearby I-70 connections. That helps local companies serve customers and recruit employees across the metropolitan area without locating downtown.
A Growing Customer Base
The U.S. Census Bureau estimated Hilliard’s population at 38,832 in 2024, about 4.5% above its 2020 estimate base. A growing local population creates opportunities for household services, health providers, retailers and business-to-business firms.
A Lively Old Hilliard District
Downtown Hilliard combines locally owned businesses, restaurants, community gathering places and regular events. Its walkable setting creates opportunities for referrals, visibility and relationships among neighboring business owners.
City Support for Small Business
Hilliard’s economic development staff offers practical guidance on business locations, questions about opening and connections to other organizations. Downtown businesses can also explore programs such as façade improvement support.
An Innovation-Friendly Environment
Hilliard City Lab connects eligible entrepreneurs and technology companies to expertise, public infrastructure, pilot opportunities and possible innovation grants. That makes the city appealing for founders developing and testing new ideas.
Workspace Choices Without a Traditional Lease
Hilliard offers coworking, private offices, virtual business addresses and private mailboxes. Entrepreneurs can choose a setup that matches how often they need a desk, a meeting room or a place to receive packages.
Strong Local Business Connections
The Hilliard Area Chamber, AmSpirit chapter and Destination Hilliard business network provide multiple ways to meet owners, learn from peers and develop referrals in the community.
A Regional Business Location with Neighborhood Appeal
Hilliard combines access to the wider Columbus economy with a recognizable local identity, parks, dining and a community-oriented downtown. That mix can be attractive to clients and employees alike.
Frequently Asked Questions
Trades, Construction & Home Services Accordion
What is the difference between a virtual office and a private mailbox?
A private mailbox provides an address for receiving mail and packages. A virtual office may add services such as business-address use, mail handling, receptionist support or access to meeting rooms. Ask each provider exactly what is included and whether the address can be used for your intended purpose.
Can I use a Hilliard mailbox address for my Google Business Profile?
A rented mailbox or virtual office address does not automatically qualify for a Google Business Profile. Google generally requires a real, staffed, eligible business location for an address to appear; service-area businesses may need to hide their address. Review current Google eligibility rules before buying an address for this purpose.
Where can I rent a meeting room in Hilliard?
Brick House Blue at TruePointe advertises reservable meeting rooms, and The Junction and Regus market meeting-space options. Compare room size, privacy, guest parking, hourly rates and whether nonmembers may book.
Is coworking available by the day in Hilliard?
The Junction lists day passes, and Brick House Blue promotes trial and day-pass coworking options.
Where can contractors receive packages without using a home address?
ProShippers BizCenter and The UPS Store both advertise private mailbox and package-receiving services. Compare carrier acceptance, oversized-package policies, notifications, storage limits and pickup hours.
What is the best way to meet other Hilliard business owners?
Start with Hilliard Area Chamber events, the AmSpirit Hilliard chapter and Destination Hilliard’s business network. Visit more than one event and choose groups where your ideal referral partners participate.
Which Small Business Development Center serves Hilliard?
The Ohio SBDC at Columbus State Community College serves Franklin County, including Hilliard. It offers confidential counseling and guidance on planning, financing, marketing and other small-business needs.
Does Hilliard offer grants or incentives for businesses?
The City of Hilliard and Hilliard Development Corporation administer programs that may include innovation grants and downtown façade assistance. Eligibility, available funding and application rules vary, so contact the economic development team before making plans.
Do I need a dedicated office to run a Hilliard business?
Not necessarily. A home-based, mobile or remote business may work with a private mailbox, virtual mail service, coworking membership or occasional meeting-room rental. Licensing, zoning, insurance, privacy and customer-visit requirements should guide the decision.
What should I compare before signing up for a business address?
Check whether the provider accepts all carriers, offers scanning or forwarding, charges per item, provides visitor reception or meeting rooms, and permits your intended address use. Ask about contract length, cancellation rules and how mail is handled when you leave.
